No one was injured following a fire Sunday evening that tore through the yard behind a commercial building in the Inkster Industrial Park.

The fire broke out just before 8:30 p.m., behind a building in the first 100 block of Milner Street, sending plumes of dark smoke into the air that could be seen across the city.

Firefighters quickly tackled the outdoor fire that involved building materials. It was under control just before 9 p.m. and stopped before it spread to any of the nearby buildings.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
