Winnipeg parkade to echo with songs of praise, prayers for the city
A Winnipeg parkade is set to play host to a powerful evening of worship and prayer this weekend. Testimony Olumade is on the ANAN Experience team and says the ministry was formed after a December 2023 prayer walk. "As I was walking, I experienced a lot to stop me in my tracks. And in a quick vision, I saw Winnipeg and the crowd worshiping," Olumade said. "It was a lot of people worshiping and proclaiming the name of Jesus. Right there, I heard the Lord tell me, 'Yes, this is My vision for the city. The church will be united and the name of Jesus proclaimed in the city.'" While Olumade was thinking and praying about what the next steps were, a specific Bible passage was put on his heart. "As I was thinking on it, it's like, what are we doing with this? The Lord dropped 2 Chronicles 5:13 in my mind." The verse says, "The trumpeters and musicians joined in unison to give praise and thanks to the Lord. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, the singers raised their voices in praise to the Lord and sang: “He is good; his love endures forever.” Then the temple of the Lord was filled with the cloud," (NIV) "The word cloud in that scripture is the Hebrew Anan, meaning the glory of the Lord. So when we say the Anan experience, we mean the glory experienced every time Christians come together to worship the name of Jesus," Olumade said. .embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; } The ANAN Experience has been hosting monthly worship events since January 2024 and the team is excited to see what God is going to do as they move it outside. Jeffrey Bergen is one of the guest speakers for the evening and is looking forward to being a part of it. "There's going to be so many amazing performers, singers, speakers, pastors, and I'm just excited to see what God's going to do. "We want to proclaim the name of Jesus over our city," Bergen said. "The Lord brought me to Ezekiel 37, where Ezekiel is in front of the bones and it says they're very dry. And the Lord was like, 'So many people have sort of accepted this idea that Winnipeg is a spiritually dry place, that Winnipeg is a place of darkness.' "The Lord says to Ezekiel, 'Can these bones come back to life?' I love Ezekiel's response because he has this very human response. He's like 'Only You know, Lord.' And then the Lord says prophesy to these bones and they shall come alive. And so he does so. And the Lord says prophesy to the wind, prophesy to the breath. And and they will come alive." The ANAN Experience team is excited to see what God will do in the City of Winnipeg. "When we begin to to fast and pray, and intercede and declare the name of Jesus of our city, I truly believe that change will happen. I believe that's already happening. There's such a prayer movement happening in our city," Bergen said. "We're claiming territory for the Kingdom of Heaven. I believe that the spiritual atmosphere of our city is going to change. We want darkness to flee in our city. We want people and our city to come alive again for the Kingdom of God." "People can bring clothing and non-perishable food items and water. We want to love on the community and give back while the event is going on," Bergen said. Olumade is excited to shw the love of God to the community. "Showing the love of God is not just in the preaching of the Gospel, it's also in giving them something they need for living as well. I'm really looking forward to how many people get blessed by having extra clothes to wear, by having hygiene supplies, or by having Bibles in their hands so they can have the Word of God more readily accessible." Donations can be dropped off at the event. The ANAN Experience is on August 31 at 5 p.m. on the top floor at The Bay Parkade (295 Memorial Boulevard). The evening is free to attend, but the team is asking that participants RSVP here.
