Young leaders from Camp Arnes completed their annual voyage across Lake Winnipeg Wednesday as part of the Forge program.

A number of future leaders in Camp Arnes' leadership training program, Forge, completed their three-day, two-night trip from Camp Arnes to Victoria Beach over the frozen Lake Winnipeg.

"A big part of Forge is adventure," said Brynn Shore, director of Forge. "It was a beautiful, crazy experience."

Shore says that this trip gives the participants a chance to grow together in ways they wouldn't be able to otherwise. She also says it challenges people and pushes them to their limits.

"It really begs the question, can I do this?" Shore said. "It drives out that character and that discipline."

Part of the trek is what Shore calls the 'anchor ceremony'. She invites participants to leave something holding them back from God right in the middle of the 12th largest lake in the world.

"Everyone should experience it once," Shore said.
