Ness Baptist Church has found a fun way to bring the men together by letting them bake cakes.

The church hosted their annual Men's Cake Bake-off this past Sunday, and this has happened for the last sixteen years.

Pastor Jeremy Olfert says that this is a fun time for all men in the congregation to get creative and have a great time. "We've had all different kinds of cakes," he said. "We've had in the past a barbecue with steaks on it all made of cake, my son and I did a cake with our church logo, and one with a big clock. It is just unreal."

Olfert says that this tradition is a great way for sons to team up for a fun thing to do with Dads. he said. "We've even had grandfathers and their sons team up, and sometimes just an older man who has taken on one of the younger guys of the congregation, and they'll do a cake together," Olfert said. "It's a neat event where it not only brings the guys together, but it brings the generations together, which is one of the values that we have at Ness."

A cake that was designed like a lily-pad in a pond won this year's bake-off. For more photos of this unique church experience, check out the Ness Baptist Church Facebook Page.
