For a chunk of the day, part of Highway 7 near Stony Mountain was closed after a major collision between a sedan and a gravel semi.

All four lanes at Highway 7 and 74N were blocked off for over three hours.

Those travelling south were rerouted to 9E on gravel roads.

One driver going through said, "The driver of the pickup truck amazingly walked away before his truck caught on fire. The semi-driver was being rescued out of his upside-down cab by three or four good and brave people as diesel fuel poured out near them. The driver was alive but looked pretty banged up."

There is no word on what caused the collision.

More to come.
