He's a former theology student, turned video game journalist that has combined his two passions in a way that is helping people get a new perspective on Scripture, as well as helping generations draw closer.

Andy Robertson has been using video games in church for a number of years now, in hopes of helping congregations experience Scripture in new ways.

Robertson says playing video games in church has opened up conversations for grandparents and grandchildren. In most of the services he hosts, the majority of the congregation is of the older generation, many of which have never even held a video game controller.

He uses the PlayStation game Abzu, to give players the opportunity to navigate through the story of Jonah via virtual oceans on a large projection screen as they listen to the Old Testament story.

The response from churches has been overwhelming, with many more churches interested in hosting similar services.
