Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services battles two blazes on Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

In a release, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) says they, "responded to reports of a fire in a vacant bungalow in the 600 block of Beverley Street.

"Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the structure and launched an offensive attack. At 8:55 p.m. the fire was declared under control."

No injuries were reported and none of the home's occupants were in the building.

Early this morning, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two and a half storey home in the 200 block of Spence Street.

WFPS says, "Upon arrival on scene, crews launched an offensive attack and very quickly brought the fire under control."

The home's occupants - save for the family's cat - had evacuated before WFPS arrived and one individual was assessed by paramedics on the scene, but did not require transport to the hospital. Firefighters located the cat in the residence and returned it to its owner.

Both fires are under investigation.
