A strip of a downtown street will be closed for the next two years as a building construction project moves forward.

As of Monday, July 16 Graham Ave. is closed to vehicles traffic between Main St. and Fort St. Buses, however, will still be able to travel down the street.

The closure is for work on a new building tower at 300/330 Main St. and is expected to last until July 15, 2020.

The City of Winnipeg says the two north side lanes, currently used for westbound traffic, will be used as a delivery area for construction trucks.

The other two lanes will be used for transit service.

Pedestrians will still be able to access the sidewalks on the south side.
