Winkler Police confirm an incident occurred at the Pembina Valley Baptist Church Sunday afternoon.

At 1:09 p.m today, STARS Air Ambulance arrived at Boundary Trails Health Centre in Winkler. STARS representatives say they transported a patient that had suffered a serious injury.

At 2:51 p.m STARS airlifted the patient to Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

Winkler Police say the investigation is currently ongoing and will release more information as it becomes available.

Winkler Police confirm an adult male is in custody after a serious assault occurred at the Pembina Valley Baptist Church Sunday afternoon.

Police say a female victim was transported to hospital in Winnipeg via STARS Air Ambulance.
