A teenager from Somerset, Man. has been arrested after an altercation with another teen at school Wednesday morning.

According to a news release issued by Pembina Valley RCMP, they received the call of a fight in progress at Prairie Mountain High School in Somerset at approximately 9:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers were told one of the 15-year-old males had been stabbed with a knife by the other during the altercation.

According to RCMP, the injured teen, who is also from Somerset, was brought to hospital in Winnipeg. As of late Wednesday afternoon, the youth was listed in stable condition.

The other male was arrested for Aggravated Assault and is currently in police custody.

RCMP continue to investigate. Somerset is approximately 113 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg.
