Loblaw Companies has recalled PC brand Cranberry Goat's Milk Cheese from the marketplace due to the possible presence of plastic pieces in the food.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says that Loblaw triggered the recall after discovering the possible contamination. It says the product has been sold in stores across Canada.

The CFIA says it is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.

The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

Consumers should not consume the recalled product and either throw it out or return it to where it was purchased.

The product has the UPC code 0 60383 01013 3. It also has the best before codes of 2020 MR 19, and 2020 MR 24.

The CFIA says there have been no reports of related illnesses or injury from consumption of the product.
