It began as a desire to see Christians in Winnipeg and Manitoba unite in worship, and it's now been a reality for one year.

ONE Worship Night takes place at Calvary Temple the last Saturday of every month. Richard Hale, the worship pastor at Calvary Temple, along with his wife Kristjana and others spearheaded the creation of the evenings.

"It's hard to believe how a year has gone by so quickly, and we've been doing it now for a full year," Hale says.

It's been a year full of highlights that have seen Christians not only come together in worship but partnering with some special projects.

That includes raising over 200 pounds of food for Winnipeg Harvest in November 2017, and 21 children being sponsored with World Vision in conjunction with the evenings.

Volunteers, Hale says, have also played a large part of the evenings' success.

"We couldn't do it without the people that rally around us . . . When you think of all the different pieces, and all the different roles, it takes a lot of effort. We are blessed to be surrounded by some amazing and gifted people who really pour their hearts and souls into this."

Hale hopes that in the coming months, ONE Worship might be able to grow into more of a discipleship role as well. They hope to be able to help train and mentor worship leaders from Winnipeg and Manitoba, "giving people tools they can use when they go back to their worship teams and local churches."

The next ONE Worship Night takes place March 31, at Calvary Temple.
