Environment Canada (EC) has issued a special weather statement as rain covers much of the south, and temperatures are expected to drop.

EC says that residents and travellers should be aware as icy conditions are expected.

From EC:

An area of showers tracking across Southern Manitoba this afternoon will be followed by falling temperatures this evening in the wake of a passing cold front.

This will lead to slippery and icy conditions on road networks and sidewalks this evening into Thursday morning as surfaces fall below the freezing mark.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.

The areas in grey below are under the special weather statement.
