Clean comedian Matt Falk is getting ready to perform a free show next week that will also help local missionaries plant seeds in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Youth for Christ Winnipeg (YFC) is hosting a comedy night fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 12, at Grant Memorial Church, with Falk headlining the event. While it is a free night out, YFC believes that Winnipeggers' generosity will help with donations that will go towards the salaries of local staff, who all raise their own funds as missionaries.

Falk, who still lives in his hometown of Niverville just south of Winnipeg, has found success across North America in recent years. He's had a few different specials, including on the well-known Dry Bar Comedy YouTube channel. His Dry Bar Comedy specials have millions of views collectively online and three of his comedy albums reached #1 on the iTunes Comedy charts.

He's also taken up writing for television and other specials in recent years, as well as acting.

All about Kingdom

Donations during the special event will go to support the dozens of local staff in Winnipeg, as well as their satellite locations in communities across the region.

"We just want people to come out and have fun and laugh. This is a time for joy and laughter," says Judy Richichi, director of development at YFC.

But, most of all, it's a great chance to help the local staff. "All of our staff raise their own support and we really want to help them and encourage them in the work that they're doing. They come downtown every day to serve our community, our youth, and raise their own support to do it, which is incredible."
