A local toy company is once again collecting donations to help bring Easter baskets to kids in Winnipeg who need a little fun the most.

"We provide Easter baskets for children staying at the 10 of the MAWS women's shelters across the entire province," says Tia Sunley, a Discovery Toys educational leader. "We also provide them for children staying at the Ronald McDonald House, as well as Dignity House and several other crisis shelters."

The company puts together over 300 baskets each year and asks for companies to sponsor them for $30/basket or for individuals to donate items or monetary donations. The kids that receive the baskets are between one and 13 years of age.

Each basket contains a Discovery Toy, a book, treats, toiletries, and a few special promos such as a free Domino's pizza coupon.

"I grew up in an environment where I witnessed people go through some of these scenarios," says Sunley. "The way that little things like receiving an Easter basket is something that makes my heart warm and fuzzy. It's the thing that drives me.

Discovery Toys gets letters each year thanking the team for their incredible generosity.
