Jamie Grace, one of the artists frequently played here on CHVN, is in many ways the picture of accomplishment. At the young age of 23 she has managed to carve out a very successful career both as a Christian recording artist and a touring act. However, she recently took the stage on "The Doctors" for a different, less known side of her struggle to get to where she is now.

Jamie has Tourette's syndrome - a disorder of uncontrollable 'tics', which manifest in the form of uncontrolled outbursts of random words, actions - sometimes violent - and small actions. The severity varies from person to person, with certain kinds of tics more pronounced than others. It's a struggle that affects an individual but also those around them.

Sometimes the disorder is combined and comorbid with other disorders such as OCD and ADHD - Jamie has OCD as well as Tourette's. Her own path to facing, fighting, and triumphing over her Tourette's was one spurred forward by the faith in God and the faith and support of her family. We could tell you more but she tells it best. "The Doctors" is an American television show that follows and investigates news in the world of health. It features and is produced by Phil McGraw (of Dr. Phil) and his son Jay McGraw, and regularly features experts from the world of health.

Congrats on conquering Tourette's, Jamie! God is amazing.
