Manitobans saw yet another text message scam making the rounds on the weekend.

Manitoba Hydro says that customers started contacting the utility over the weekend inquiring about a text message they'd received.

The message said that Manitoba Hydro had sent customers a refund. It also invited recipients to follow a link on their phone to deposit the supposed refund via Interac.

Manitoba Hydro warned customers to "never give any personal or account information out over the phone, or by email or text."

Hydro said that if you're unsure whether a message is from them or not you should simply contact them directly.

Most often Hydro will simply credit an account for the next billing period if you've overpaid a bill.
