The Christmas spirit was well and alive Monday evening at Landmark Cinema.

Fans of The Chosen filled the theatre for a VIP screening of Christmas with The Chosen: Holy Night

This is the first time The Chosen Christmas special is being released north of the border, and fans were excited, especially those at the screening.

Dallas Jenkins, creator, director, and co-writer of The Chosen, kicked off the night by introducing the movie and how it all came to be.

Christmas with The Chosen: Holy Night blends two special episodes, "The Messengers" and "The Shepherd" into one new remastered and re-scored story.

The most powerful scene was when Jesus was born. Seeing and experiencing it through the eyes of Mary and Joseph, and then again through those of a shepherd boy thought to be unclean. The night sky was filled with the most beautiful colours as everyone rushed to see what had happened. The two perspectives came together with one phrase, 'People must know.' Something that both Mary and the shepherd knew was true.

The almost two-hour special was filled with beautiful musical performances from a variety of artists, including a never-before-seen performance from Andrea and Matteo Bocelli. Phil Wickham, Zach Williams, Brandon Luke and Matt Maher also performed in the film.

At the end of the screening, Dallas, who is currently in Winnipeg to film his new project, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, took to the floor to answer questions from some of the fans. One of the questions was, Will there be more The Chosen experiences in Canada? The answer, yes.

Another question was, how can we pray for you? Dallas responded with, pray for my children.

Watch it in theatres!
