Solidarity protests against racism and police violence have sprung up around the world, as U.S. cities continue their demonstrations in memory of George Floyd.

Jimmy Thunder is a public speaker, an adjunct professor at Horizon College and Seminary, and co-founder of Reconciliation Thunder, a non-profit that uses social media to educate people on themes related to Truth and Reconciliation.

He says when it comes to race and racism, there is one phrase he hears all too often: "I don't see colour."

"It sounds good, but the problem with that is that we need to see colour. We need to see and celebrate different races and identities," Thunder explains.

Today on Connections, Jimmy Thunder shares with us the realities of racism in Canada and how he believes the Church can work to put a stop to it.
