Children and staff at the Winnipeg Mennonite Elementary and Middle Schools (WMEMS) Bedson Campus are gearing up for their production next week.

Drama teacher Sheri Kovacs said that the grade eights are doing twice the amount of fun in one show this year.

WMEMS PRODUCTION

"They are presenting two shows; Just Like Us and You're Driving Me Crazy," Kovacs said, "It's going to be an evening suitable for everybody."

Both of the shows are from Pioneer Drama Service and this is the school's fifth production.

Just Like Us is the first half of the show and You're Driving Me Crazy is the second half.

Just Like Us is about two communities who don't like each other and don't tolerate each other. Along comes a third party who mediates reconciliation between the two communities to embrace their differences instead of fighting them.

You're Driving Me Crazy will have you laughing as teenagers learn to drive in unusual ways from a driving instructor.

Kovacs said at the beginning the kids come in and are a little bit nervous but when they become characters on the stage they learn that they can be "out there" and not worry about being teased. They become more confident in themselves.

"It's just an amazing program where really, they grow so much," Kovacs said.

The production is taking place Wednesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 11th at 7 pm.

Doors open at 6:30 pm at the school, 250 Bedson St.

Tickets are $5 per person at the door. Or to secure your seat ahead of time, Kovacs says to call the office at 204-885-1031
