Authorities are investigating after North End fire crews were kept busy this morning, mostly within the same few streets.

McGregor Street, Selkirk Avenue, Manitoba Avenue, and Salter Street all are recovering after early-morning blazes to buildings as well as many outdoor fires.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic (WFPS) says they are considering the fires to be suspicious and are investigating with the Winnipeg Police Service. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Winnipeg Police Service at 204-986-6219.

Residents are being reminded that fires can quickly spread and are asking residents to be cautious.

The City is emphasizing the importance of keeping waste and garbage away from homes and not putting waste carts on days other than collection day.

To ensure the safety of homes, homeowners are being asked to trim and water shrubs and trees close to buildings

The fires are considered suspicious, invoking the City to remind residents to lock all windows and doors and are suggesting residents use motion-activated lights outside of the home.
