The Pilots and Blazers finished their futsal season this weekend, with the Blazers taking home a championship title.

The Providence Pilots weren't able to finish off the season with a trip to the finals as both the men and women fell in the MCAC semi-finals.

The men lost 7-4 to the eventual champions, University of Saint-Boniface. The season saw them sneak into the playoffs on the final weekend, which pitted them against the number one seed in the conference.

The women lost an absolute heart-breaker to Saint-Boniface as well, when the Rouges scored with just four seconds left in the game to give them a 8-7 win. The Pilots had picked up points in 5 of their last 6 games to claim the second seed.

The Pilots are now finished with their athletic year as school starts to wind down.

Heartbreak was no stranger to the Canadian Mennonite University men either. The Blazers played the Brandon University Bobcats in the semi-finals, both with identical 6-1-3 records. The game ended in a 6-6 draw, sending it to a shootout, where the final shot by the Blazers was saved on the line by the Bobcats goaltender, ending the Blazers season.

The Blazers women finished their season strong, remaining undefeated to win the MCAC Futsal Championship over the University of Saint-Boniface Rouges. The Blazers ended up winning 12 straight throughout the season to become the convincing champions. Camille Plett led the league with 27 goals, including three goals in the championship match, giving her tournament MVP honours. Cara Isaak and Lianna Bestvater also picked up MCAC Women's Futsal co-Coaches of the Year.

High School

The Linden Christian junior varsity girls won the consolation side at the AAA girls basketball provincials, picking up a 33-32 win. The varsity girls are still looking for their chance, playing in Brandon on Tuesday for a spot in the AAA varsity provincials.

MBCI had a great week, with both grade nine girls and boys basketball teams finishing first in the league. The teams are now waiting for their chance to be KPAC champions this week.

The varsity girls team at MBCI also had a winning week, defeating Transcona Collegiate to win the KPAC Tier 2 Championship.
