People will be on the hunt for unclaimed treasure at St. Vital Centre again, and the proceeds are helping sick kids.

The biannual Children's Hospital Book Market begins this morning at 9:30, and runs through Saturday.

In 58 years of existence, the sale has raised over eight million dollars for the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Carol Irving, the coordinator of the sale says you never know what treasures you might find. "A favourite memory for me is when I found a book called Clever Bill. It's been long out of print, and I was just so excited to be able to find it. I bought it for my young daughter."

The hours for the sale are:

  • Thursday: 9:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
