The national forecaster says it's likely a tornado touched down last week in western Manitoba.

Environment Canada says that meteorologists were tracking a thunderstorm that was rotating just outside of Shoal Lake around 3:55 p.m. on August 21.

Several storm spotters and people in the area took photos and videos of a large funnel cloud. However, Environment Canada says, there's still not enough evidence to determine if the funnel cloud turned into a tornado.

Meteorologists are continuing to investigate, and are asking for witnesses to share pictures of the suspected tornado or damage it may have caused.

Environment Canada can be contacted at 1.800.239.0484 or emails may be sent to mbstorm@canada.ca, or tweet to #mbstorm.

Environment Canada says their initial report is still unofficial and not complete or final at this time.
