The tent community at All Saints Church has to come down, but the church isn't sure what will happen next.

It's been a month since a number of people set up tents on the front lawn of All Saints. There is a wedding happening over the weekend, however, which means all the current residents will have to leave.

Brent Neumann, the priest at All Saints, says that moving forward is what the church is struggling with.

"We've never seen it like this before and it's just sort of blossomed into something that has become a bit overwhelming," Neumann said. "We're trying to figure out how to move forward with it."

The church is divided right now as to what comes next. They want to show the community that has gathered love but also want to do it in a way that is respectful and not rude.

"The question that we have to face is the same question that we as a city of Winnipeg have to face," Neumann said. "How do we as a city, as a community, as a neighbourhood, help people who are obviously in great need."

Neumann says they have been doing their best to help. Church members have been providing water, providing breakfast along with Agape Table, spending time with them, and even getting an outdoor toilet for them.

"(It's) certainly not enough, but it's the best we can do."

The church is sitting down Tuesday night to make a decision, which may also come down to what they decide to do with the worn out section of the building.
