The execution of two search warrants resulted in seizures of over $27,000 worth of drugs in Winnipeg.

The first bust, on the evening of August 23, members of the Winnipeg Police Service's Guns and Gangs Unit and Tactical Support Team, executed a search warrant in a residential building in the 400 block of Cumberland Avenue.

One male and a female are in custody as searches of the suite lead to the seizure of 19.5 ounces of methamphetamine and 2.5 ounces of cocaine with an accumulated estimated street value of $16,700.

They also seized $1,380 in Canadian currency and $75 worth of Tylenol 3 pills.

A loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a tampered serial number, a loaded .303 British bolt-action rifle, and a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun was also found in the residence.

On August 24, members of the Guns and Gangs Unit and the Tactical Support Team searched a residence in the 200 block of Young Street.

One 31-year-old male is in custody as 17 ounces of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $10,200, and $100 worth of fentanyl was found in the residence.

$4,170 in Canadian currency and property that had been stolen from a business in the St. James Industrial area were also seized because of the search warrant.
