Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the City of Winnipeg.

"Fans in the stands and alumni on the ice will see the puck drop this afternoon to an air temperature around 10 degrees. An approaching low pressure system will bring rain to Winnipeg this evening making a Messier of the ice. Hopefully this game is a Great One that Finnishes before the rain starts. The rain will persist throughout the night with 5-10 mm expected before tapering off Sunday morning. The Jets will play the Oilers Sunday afternoon under cloudy conditions with an air temperature around 8 degrees and 20 km/h winds from the northwest. Game on!
