From being in a terrorist organization to being undercover and finding Christ, Mosab Hassan Yousef shared his story Monday evening.

Yousef, the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, one of the founding members of the terrorist organization Hamas, was in Winnipeg Monday to share his story with more than 500 people who were in attendance.

"That's what he grew up in, in a radical terrorist organization filled with hate," explained Peter Fast, the deputy national director at Bridges for Peace Canada. "Rarely do we have someone who comes out of (these extremist groups)."

After being arrested for planning a terror plot, he ended up working for the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security service. He spent years undercover, preventing terrorist attacks and even having his own father arrested.

During this time, he found Jesus when he was given a Bible. Fast says he read Jesus' message of love and broke down crying.

"His message is truth, peace, forgiveness," Fast said. "He's bringing his message to the world about really what is going on in Israel."

Yousef has written a book called Son of Hamas and starred in a feature film called The Green Prince.
