No need to be alarmed if you see soldiers marching the streets of Winnipeg this evening. It is only a part of their annual readiness examinations.

"Every year we have to conduct different operations to stay current... So the soldiers will be dressed in uniforms." W.O. James Clarke from The Fort Garry Horse states. "It's like a battle fitness test."

The Fort Garry Horse is an Armoured Reconnaissance unit which is a part of the Canadian Army Reserve based at McGregor Armoury here in Winnipeg.

The soldiers will be marching around the area of McGregor Street and Machray Avenue between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm this evening, May 16 in uniform. They will be carrying around 50 pounds of equipment including visible rifles. The guns will not be loaded.
