Normal spring river levels have closed part of the river walk along the Assiniboine River.

The City of Winnipeg has closed the Assiniboine river walk from Osborne Bridge to the Main Street Bridge as a result of rising water levels. It had been open temporarily this spring while ice continued to melt.

The light standards along the walk have also been removed, which means there will be no lighting along the walk during the evening.

Barricades have been installed along various access points and the walk will re-open once conditions permit.
