Swan River RCMP responded to Steeprock Bay Bible Camp on Tuesday evening after a male counsellor went missing after swimming in the lake.
RCMP say that a 17-year-old counsellor from the camp was seen swimming out to a floating dock, but he disappeared and witnesses did not see him resurface.
"RCMP officers immediately attended, spoke with witnesses and called in Sustainable Development, who had a boat in the area, to search the water for the male. Due to nightfall, searchers were called out of the water," the RCMP said in a release.
The RCMP are continuing to search along with Sustainable Development today.
Steeprock Bay Bible Camp is located 90 KM north of Swan River, MB.
