About 9 kilometres from where the burned vehicle belonging to two teen fugitives was found, RCMP located items that they have confirmed to be linked to Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky.

Manitoba RCMP continue their search for the two fugitives believed responsible for three homicides that took place in July in British Columbia.

On August 2, 2019, several items were found along the shoreline of the Nelson River by the RCMP. On the same day, a damaged boat was also found along the river.

"RCMP have confirmed that these items are directly linked to the suspects," an online post by Manitoba RCMP revealed Tuesday.

About 9 kilometres from where the burned vehicle belonging to two teen fugitives was found, RCMP located items that they have confirmed to be linked to Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky.

After learning of the importance of the items, the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) was deployed immediately and conducted a thorough underwater search.

The search took place over 29 metres around the location where the aluminum watercraft had been located, however, the search did not yield any additional items belonging to the suspects.

No further information about the items has been provided by RCMP at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation, which remains ongoing.

Officers and resources remain in the Gillam area at this time, although the roadblock set up by RCMP on Provincial Road 290 has since been removed.
