Manitobans could be in for some tricky driving conditions Monday evening and Tuesday.

Rain is forecast for the evening in Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba. That rain will then turn to snow after midnight.

Shannon Moodie from Environment Canada says that the snow will continue overnight throughout tomorrow and into Tuesday evening.

She says that overnight Monday evening and early Tuesday morning much of the snow will likely melt as the temperature hovers around the freezing mark.

However, she says, temperatures will drop throughout the day on Tuesday and the snow will begin to pile up.

"We could see about two centimetres, maybe even two to four centimetres, on Tuesday. And then an additional two to four centimetres on Tuesday evening."

Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings for parts of Manitoba. Those areas, including Swan River, Dauphin, and Russell, could see anywhere between 10 and 20 centimetres.
