The Government of Manitoba says their attempt in reaching out to Manitobans for feedback regarding its efforts during the pandemic has proven to be successful.

On Tuesday night, residents across the province were invited to participate in one of three public town calls by telephone. The town halls, hosted by Dr. Brent Roussin, Minister Cameron Friesen, and other government officials answered questions regarding the pandemic.

The Province says close to 52,000 people participated in the event.

“Last week, we shared with you a draft plan to guide Manitobans into the second phase of safely restoring our services and rebuilding our economy from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Premier Brian Pallister says.

The Province welcomed feedback and answered questions regarding the plan.

So far, they have received over 8,300 questions and surveys from citizens regarding its response to the pandemic, with over 5,200 of those questions being received after the May 21 announcement of Phase 2 planning.

"We rely on all Manitobans, from front-line workers to the business community to those receiving our services, to let us know their thoughts on how best to safely expand available services while maintaining physical distancing measures and other considerations of our health and well-being.”
