The NDP says they would undo a lot of health care changes if they're elected, while the PC party is promising to tackle the meth crisis.

Manitoba New Democrats kicked off their provincial election campaign with a promise to reverse many of the health care changes decisions made by the Progressive Conservative government.

Leader Wab Kinew says the NDP would re-open emergency departments at the Seven Oaks and Concordia hospitals in Winnipeg and increase the number of hospital beds in the city.

Kinew also says he would put more resources into fighting the growing use of methamphetamines and balance the budget within four years.

Premier Brian Pallister -- who has not officially launched the September 10 election campaign -- also announced a series of initiatives Wednesday to deal with the meth problem, including expanded addictions treatment and a crackdown on drug dealers.

Pallister says they would build an "acute medical sobering facility" that could treat up to 30 patients at a time for one to four days.
