An evangelist and her community are in fervent prayer as she goes into surgery.

Priscilla Shirer, the author, actress, and founder of Going Beyond Ministries found out three years ago that there was a small nodule in her left lung. Shirer shared with followers on social media that she and pulmonary specialists have been keeping an eye on the swelling since that moment.

Unfortunately, it continued to grow and she is now in need of surgery. "The nodule had begun to grow and show signs of dangerous irregularities," Shirer says in the post.

"We refuse to cave to fear,  anxiety or a decrease in faith."

According to Shirer, due to the recent loss of her mother to cancer, the past few months have been filled with a lot of difficulties. "For those reasons, the surgery was delayed but I cannot put it off any longer without jeopardizing my own health," Shirer shares.

After a prayer meeting with the women from her church, Shirer went into surgery on January 13, 2020, to remove the entire lobe of her left lung. "We refuse to cave to fear,  anxiety or a decrease in faith," Shirer says.

"We are trusting Him for a favourable outcome and that I will return to full health personally and full function in ministry," Shirer says.

No information has been released on the results of the surgery thus far.
