A driver in a rush over Tuesday's lunch break will hopefully be thinking twice before deciding to ignore the speed limit.
The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) says that an officer on patrol Tuesday afternoon caught the driver going twice the posted speed limit.
Police allege that the driver was going 141 km/h in a 70 km/h zone on Inkster Boulevard.
They also added that the driver was just a few blocks away from an elementary school when caught.
WPS tweeted out a picture of the ticket, which came to $979.00
Someone is going to have to put in some extra hours at work to pay off this fine. Caught going 141 in a 70km/h zone. Almost a $1,000 ticket. #justslowdown #wpstraffic pic.twitter.com/oOB3pZe22v
