Nick Foles, the Jacksonville Jaguars' quarterback, says he decided to glorify God after breaking his clavicle.

In the first week of the season, former Superbowl MVP broke his clavicle in a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He returns to the field this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

When asked at a press conference about his first thoughts after injury, Foels says, "Right when I felt this thing break and I was going into the locker room I just realized, ‘God this wasn’t exactly what I was thinking when I came to Jacksonville.'

“But at the end of the day, I said, ‘God if this is the journey you want me to go on, I’m going to glorify you in every action, good or bad.’ You know, I still can have joy in injury. People hear that and say that’s crazy, but it’s like when you believe in Jesus and you go out there and you play, that changes your heart.”

Foles, a former Superbowl MVP, says his joy is placed firmly in Jesus - even when it could be easy to give himself the credit for his success. “In that moment, I realized I didn’t need that trophy to find who I was, because I was already in Christ," says Foles.

“If you make it about yourself, you’re probably gonna go home at night, lay your head on your pillow and be very alone, and very sad.”

"And that’s my message when I play, the same thing happens when I get injured… we tend to this so much about us, as human beings, we tend to make it about us, as athletes, it’s not about us. It really isn’t."

Foles says to the press that his purpose, "Is not football, its impacting people. My ministry happens to be the locker room. I have still been able to get to know these guys through an injury."

In preparation for his return, Foles says, "When I step on the feel, I am playing against a man, Frank Reich, he's a guy that I admire more than anything. He is a guy who has impacted my life so much and hs is going obe on the opposing sideline. That is going to be fun.

Frank Reich, the Head Coach of the Indianapolis Colts, is also an outspoken and devout Christian.
