Additional construction announced by the City of Winnipeg along Fermor Avenue will make for an even slower commute for motorists this summer.

In addition to construction already slowing down Fermor, the City has announced that motorists will need to make further arrangements for delays.

As of Monday, June 10, the stretch of Fermor between Lagimodière and Plessis will be reduced to only a single lane running in each direction due to construction.

"Motorists: expect significant delays, allow additional travel time, use alternate routes," recommends the City for the next few months. Alternate routes suggested include Dougald Rd., Plessis Rd., Lagimodière Blvd., and the Perimeter Hwy.

The project is expected to last until November 2019.

Significant construction along Fermor between Archibald St. and St. Anne's Rd. has been in progress for over a year. The additional construction plans announced are expected to contribute to further delays.
