Manitoba Liberal leader Dougald Lamont says he has no plans to resign after the party's disappointing showing in Tuesday's provincial election.

The party lost one of its seats as well as official party status when it won only three ridings in the vote that returned the Progressive Conservatives to power.

Lamont says the outcome was disappointing but the future of the party is secure.

He adds he expects to be supported by the party in a mandatory leadership review.
