February 1 is the second annual Royal Canadian Mounted Police Day in Manitoba.

The Manitoba government is commemorating the second annual RCMP Day. The day was created to recognize dedicated service and the commitment to safety.

"As Manitobans and as Canadians, it is important that we show our respect and appreciation for the dedicated service of the RCMP," said Justice Minister Heather Stefanson in a release. "RCMP Day is about honouring each of the hardworking members of the RCMP who work tirelessly and selflessly to keep us safe."

RCMP Day was created last year in Manitoba. The RCMP was established back in 1920 on February 1.
