The man collected approximately $400 before being apprehended by authorities.

Yesterday afternoon a man attempted to rob two businesses and a pedestrian using a large pipe wrench, pretending it was a firearm.

He first entered a restaurant and demanded money. The restaurant gave him proximity $300 before the man left, immediately entering another business.

Once entering the neighbouring business, the man threatened to shoot the employee if money was not given. The location gave him less than $100.

After the second robbery, the police responded to a call from the restaurant, becoming aware of the man-at-large.

Next, the man entered a near-by gas station and demanded the worker call him a taxi. The worker was threatened to be shot if they did not comply with the aggressor's demand. The aggressor did not take a taxi and left the location.

While walking, the man then confronted a pedestrian in the parking lot for money.

The police, along with private citizens, were able to locate and apprehend the man at Pembina Highway and Jubilee Avenue.

The 41-year-old man was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession of Weapon, two counts of Robbery, Use of Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Indictable Offence, and three counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm. No injuries occurred during the robberies.
