A 66-year-old man has died after he and another got into an altercation while the man was trying to park a boat in his back lane.

The Winnipeg Police Service believes that Calvin Chan and a neighbour were attempting to back a boat into a garage in a back lane. Another man tried to drive down the lane and an argument ensued.

A single punch was thrown and connected with Chan.

Police were called to the area of Burrows Ave. and Albina Way at noon on Saturday, May 11, and located Chan, who was unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died from his injuries.

Police have arrested a 24-year-old man in relation to the incident. He has been charged with manslaughter and was detained in custody.
