Multiply (previously MB missions) recently ran a bus tour through the inner city to open the eyes of people to the unseen areas of the city.

The tour started in the Vinyard church were a group of about 40-50 people gathered together for lunch.

Over the lunch, many missionaries and pastors spoke about where they had come from and how they were fulfilling their calling to Winnipeg.

Ewald Unruh, the Regional Director for church planting in Manitoba for Multiply said, "What we wanted to do a was actually help people see both the need that is out there, and where transformation is taking place.

"And through that to ask what is God saying, what is God doing, how is the good news of Christ's love really bringing new life to the city."

The tour itself started off by driving by the church of one of the missionaries who was called to Winnipeg.

This highlighted the global shift that is taking place in missions, said Unruh, as "that is that it is from everywhere to everywhere."

Next, the bus drove through the core of Winnipeg, Gilbert Park, then further into the North End.

In Gilbert park, we heard from representatives of churches and organizations whose goal is to bridge the gap, the gap between poorer and wealthier streets as well as the gap of the literal bridge that divides the Gilbert park area from the rest of the city.

One of the most meaningful parts of the tour for most people might have been that this was, for many people on the tour, the first time they had seen or driven through these parts of the city explained Unruh.

"This is Winnipeg, this is our Winnipeg and the diversity of it."

The tour also highlighted the beauty of our city, "whether it is expressed through the art that was given out, or just seeing that people are open to being received at their door."

Multiply has a mission and that is, "together that the world may know," this mission was at the forefront of the tour as a whole.
