Several highways in western Manitoba are closed Sunday night due to poor winter driving conditions.

A significant weather system rolled through the province on Sunday and into Monday, bringing with it heavy snowfall, freezing rain and strong winds.

The system continues to impact the area, leading to treacherous driving conditions.

As of 7:25 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, the following highways remain closed.

  • Highway 1 from Saskatchewan border to Highway 34
  • Highway 2, from Glenboro to Souris
  • Highway 3, Killarney to Highway 21
  • Highway 3, from Carmen to Highway 14
  • Highway 5, from Saskatchewan Border to Highway 1
  • Highway 10, from Brandon to Highway 3
  • Highway 10, from Highway 1 to Clear Lake
  • Highway 10 within Riding Mountain National Park
  • Highway 10, from north entrance Riding Mtn. to Highway 77
  • Highway 18, from Killarney to Highway 2
  • Highway 21, from Highway 16 to Highway 45
  • Highway 45, from Russell to Highway 10
  • Highway 50, from McCreary to Silver Ridge
  • Highway 83, from Roblin to Highway 367
  • Highway 83, from Highway 57 to Swan River
  • Highway 276, from Sainte Rose du Lac to Highway 481
  • Highway 278, from Highway 68 to Silver Ridge
  • Highway 366, from Grandview to Inglis
  • Highway 481, from Highway 68 to Highway 276
  • Highway 482, from PTH 83 to PTH 5

The following highways have reopened. 

  • Highway 2, from Saskatchewan border to Highway 21, 
  • Highway 16, from Highway 50 to Highway 1
  • Highway 13, from Carmen to Highway 2,
  • Highway 14, from Highway 332 to Highway 3,
  • Highway 23, from Highway 342 to Kane,
  • Highway 245, from Highway 3 to Highway 342,
  • Highway 3 from Sperling to Highway 34
  • Highway 428, from Highway 23 to Highway 14,
