Winnipeg will once again see hazy skies thanks to out of province fires, but the air quality shouldn't be affected Wednesday or Thursday.

Smoke from wildfires in British Columbia and Alberta is making its way to Manitoba once again thanks to westerly winds. However, at least for the next few days, southern Manitoba can breathe a sigh of relief.

"No air quality statements in the immediate future," said Mike Russo from Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Haze is expected to enter Winnipeg and southern Manitoba Wednesday evening and has been forecast to stay until Thursday night.

While it's good news, for now, Russo says it's still possible that an air quality statement could come into effect later in the week.

"There is a small possibility later this week that the smoke plume could move down over southern Manitoba," he said.

There are wildfires raging across all of British Columbia, with a large portion of them located between the Canadian Rockies and the Coast Mountains.
