The City of Winnipeg wants to encourage you and your family to get active today.

To celebrate this years National Health and Fitness Day, the City of Winnipeg is providing free access to any City-run aquatic and recreation facilities during regularly scheduled public use times.

"We look forward to seeing you on National Health and Fitness Day at our City facilities," said Mayor Brian Bowman in a statement on Tuesday. "Join me and my family on June 3 as we incorporate activity throughout our day."

The goal of the day is to inspire Canadians to become more active, while providing a chance for all citizens to celebrate and promote local recreation and sports facilities.

The weather seems to be perfect for heading outside today.
