Francis Chan says Christians should see COVID-19 an opportunity to reach a lost world.

Rather than fearing the worst, Chan, an American Christian author, is encouraging believers to spread the love of Christ to others during a time of uncertainty and panic.

In the midst of this time of fear and anxiety, Chan is reminding Christians around the world to be bold in faith.

"We can do all things through Christ and that means even during this time," the author shared in an online video posted to his Crazy Love YouTube Channel on Mar. 20, 2020.

Chan called the pandemic "one of our greatest opportunities to reach a lost world and show them we haven't lost our love, joy, and peace," reports The Christian Post.

Chan also called believers to be resilient. "I think that is what the world, in the church, is being shown right now is how vulnerable, how volatile we are that one little thing could mess things up."

For seven years, Chan has worked to encourage Christians in their walk with Christ through all aspects and circumstances in their lives.

In February, Chan and his family moved from the US to Hong Kong to serve as missionaries. Chan says he would like to be in the US during this "crazy" time to share what God has put on his heart.

Over 59,000 cases of coronavirus have been found in the US as of Thursday morning.

Love and joy, says Chan, are going to continue to be crucial for Christians to show to others during this time.

"Even at this moment, the enemy can't take that away from us," Chan says.

"This is the fruit of the Spirit, guys, take advantage of this time. Don't miss this opportunity. This is one of our greatest opportunities for reaching out to a lost world and showing them that we haven't lost our love, joy, and peace.

"We love the Lord Jesus Christ, and His Church is alive and well," says Chan.

Keeping our peace, love, joy, and sharing these with others is one of the most important ways Christians can serve the world around them during this pandemic.

"This is a time where we thank God and go, 'God, it is so good that I am with you, and nothing, nothing can separate me from your love," Chan says. "I'm loved by you and nothing can separate this — no disease, no death, no life, death, angels principalities, nothing can separate me from the love of God.'"
