Firefighters in Winnipeg responded to three fires in two hours Thursday evening.

Sargent Ave. fire

The first call came in at 5:03 p.m. Crews responded to a fire in a three-storey apartment complex in the 700 block of Sargent Avenue.

The City of Winnipeg says members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) located a small fire in one of the apartments and were able to quickly extinguish it.

Everybody in the building safely evacuated before firefighters arrived, and everyone was able to return to their suites.

There is no damage estimate, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Magdalene Bay fire

An hour later, at 6:07 p.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey duplex in the 0-100 block of Magdalene Bay.

Firefighters say they found heavy smoke and launched an interior, offensive attack. They were able to get the fire under control by 6:31 p.m.

The WFPS says that the fire was contained to one suite, however smoke and water damage was sustained in both suites.

A pet rabbit has been reported missing. All occupants of the building were able to evacuate on their own, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.

Johnson Ave. West fire

Again, upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and launched an interior, offensive attack. The WFPS says they were quickly able to extinguish the fire.

Damage was contained to a single suite. The WFPS says they evacuated occupants of the building, but everyone was able to return to their suites once the fire was extinguished. Again, there were no injuries in the fire.
