Junel Malapad has been running for years. Now he's running for 24 straight hours to support yet another charity.

Malapad and his friend, Jonathan Torchia, are running for 24 straight hours and 100 miles to raise money for Cancer Care Manitoba's Lung Cancer program.

Lung cancer is important to the two friends because a good friend's husbandhhas been diagnosed with lung cancer.

While this is an incredibly long run, Malapad has been running for charities for quite a while already, including a Boxing Day run in 2017 for Siloam Mission. The wind chill that day was -47°C.

"I love running so much, so if I'm spending so much time running, I could incorporate that with helping organizations," Malapad said. He's run for organizations like Siloam, Red Cross, Canadian Mental Health Association, and Cancer Care Manitoba.

Run Your Lungs Out, the event Malapad and Torchia are running in, runs for 24 hours and on 4 treadmills. The other two treadmills will be occupied by donors, with the goal to have someone running on all four from Friday at 12:00 p.m. until Saturday at 12:00 p.m. There will also be midnight yoga and stretching stations for those who are in attendance.

Malapad encourages people to reach out to organizations they want to support so you can come up with a way to help together.
